EDSTRÖMSKA MFT

Edströmska  is an automotive technical center for upper secondary students, adults and businesses which opened in the fall of 2004. The school is comprised of 60+ staff, 450 upper secondary students, and 100+ adults in VET programs.

Edströmska is run by the Municipality of Västerås in conjuncture with the automotive, construction, and transport industry. Edströmska is led by the trade and transport industry as well as the metal workers and transport unions. The Board of Directors is comprised of eight representatives of the trade industry and three representatives of the Municipality of Västerås. The chairman and co-chairman are two of the trade industry representatives. The school’s principals are also part of the board.

The school develops through the daily work of the board and program council in cooperation with the trade industry in an attempt to keep up with current technological advances. All staff have the opportunity for further training due to these technical advances, as well as courses and exchanges abroad.
